Neither I, nor any one in my family has asthma. How did my child get it then?

It’s difficult to answer how your child ‘got’ asthma. Though, in a large number of cases, asthma is passed on genetically, a child can still develop asthma even if no one in the family has asthma. Your family, medical history and other circumstances during pregnancy like smoking while being pregnant could all be contributors.

To pin point any particular cause or any particular person would be very difficult, without knowing all the circumstances and history.
