Asthma Attacks

Asthma attacks can be mild or severe:

Mild Asthma attack could be the one in which there would be slight coughing, wheezing or difficulty in breathing. These mild attacks may worsen and make the attack to be severe.

Severe Asthma Attacks could make it extremely difficult in breathing and speaking. In such attacks the patient may even turn blue from lack of oxygen. This is known as "cyanosis". When having such severe attack, one should immediately take a dose of reliever medication or use the inhaler repeatedly until you feel better. If the condition does not improve the patient should be rushed to the hospital. While doing these procedures the key is to remain calm. Relaxation exercises have proven to be very effective during such conditions.
