Asthma and Immune system

Asthma medication and your immunity system of the body are related to each other in a slight manner. In certain cases the treatment given for asthma is in such a huge quantity that the possibility of it effecting the immune system of the body cannot be denied. This is mainly seen in cases where certain steroids  are given on regular basis.

High doses of steroids may cause osteoporosis and also reduces the ability of the human body's immunity system to fight infections and sometimes may also reduce the potential growth in children. The asthma patients immune system also reacts differently with different allergens (see research report)
